Both dogs have similar appearances, with smooth hair that lies flat against their skin and a broad head. The American Scott is considered to be a working breed, originally bred for farming purposes. They are loyal companions but can be aggressive when protecting their owners or their property. The English Bulldog was developed as a sporting breed and is more docile than the American Scott. They make excellent family pets, but should not be placed in situations where they may be able to injure other people or animals.
